On the weekend of April 5th, I spent it with my family in Kailua Kona, Hawaii! I havent been there in quite someitme time, and OH BOY was I surprised. Kona has changed so much, it's absolutely beautiful. It was probably always a nice place, and I just didnt appreciate as a child? Yeah, that's it...haha.. Even though our trip was for my Uncle Jaymie's funeral services, we were able to get in alot of quality family time. It was great, and I cant wait to visit again!
The view from my balconey! B-E-A-U-Tiful!
Now this is the view right outside our room door! Sickoning huh?? haha
The swimming pool was HUGE and stretched all the way to back of the hotel. There were a couple of bridges and waterfalls around it. It's too bad we didnt have anytime to swim, because this pool even had a bar in the water! haha! Im gonna make my way back there soon and soak it up!
Aside from the gorgeous scenary, the most memorable part of the trip for me was spendng it with my family! We laughed, we cried and laughed some more! It was the best! Here's some snapshots of my 'ohana!
ALOHA FROM KONA!
Location: Rumour's Night Club -Ala Moana Hotel
Purpose: Celebrating my soul glo brudder Taei's 30th Birthday 70's Style!
We had a blast! Costume parties are so much fun! It gives everyone a chance to dress out of the norm and enjoy that different era. We got to groove to old school music, and party it up disco style in our private VIP room. It's a good thing too, some of us got stares because of our attire and hair accessories! Too funny! But all in good fun!
Taei is sportin' one of our vintage finds! It was a bit snug for him, but you cant even tell! He looks great! haha! Also, that's his own hair!...wig not needed...LOL
the Guys were definitely lookin...D-Y-N-O-M-I-T-E!
and the Ladies too!
Fiatoa Sandwich! Beau, Marcus aka Dj Dogg Father, & Juval
One of the memorable moments this evening was Sam's aka Jusamee's butt grabbin incident! Let me explain...Sam "accidently" grabs our friend Beau's buttocks, "thinking" it's her hubby Taei's! LOL... And what could've been a quite incident amongst the two of them, Beau decides to share the experience with all of us in the room. He shouts "Sam, did you just grab my ass!?!" at the top of his lungs! It was frick'n hilarious! Sam turns the brightest shade of red! Too funny! Here's pictures below...look how the story unveils! You be the judge...Taei is pictured in the Orange&White shirt, Beau in GREEN and Sam's sportin' her afro! lol.....
As the night came to an end, it came down to just the four of us! Here's some pictures of the 3 stooges!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEEEEEEEEETNESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!
Can you tell whats vintage??? haha... What I thought to be an easy shopping excursion, turned into a day long hunt! We shopped at Savers, Salvation Army and Goodwill. All the stores had a pretty good selection on retro tops, but Savers had to be my favorite. They had all sizes, including Large, XL & XXL. The guys we were shopping for are pretty big dudes, so Savers really did save us that day! hahaha....
The first two pictures are actual polyester tops. We lucked out and found about 6 of them. Unfortunately, only one of the was a large! One thing I learned that day is that polyester last forever! I must've heard that statment 3 times that day!
The next is a Hawaiian print shirt. It wasnt retro enough, so this one stayed at the store.
These are two of my faves! Their actually newer prints! Yep, vintage knockoffs! But we bought them anyways because they were larger sizes, they were long, and GREEN (my favorite color!)
After are shopping escapade, I learned from my friend Beau that we should of hit up Antique shops. He frequents those stores for vintage attire, and says those are the best places to pick up old school clothes. I'll definitely take him up on that for our next costume inspired party!
For the past few weeks I've been helping Jusamee prep for her hubby's 30th birthday. We're having a 70's themed party at Rumor's VIP lounge. Im so excited! Everyone is really getting into the theme, especially with the 70's hairdos. Some will be sporting the infamous afros & the iconic feathered Farah Fawcett do. I wanted to wear a wig at first but, my head gets too hot. So im opting for the scarf headband with curls. Anyway, this past Monday we headed over to Party City in Waikele for the wigs. I guess that's the only place that carries wigs year round.
Sam is such a sport! She tried on everything for the perfect hairdo!
This is Jusamee's sister Emily above. She was rockin in the mullet! Wouldn't you agree??
I was shopping for men wigs. A couple of our guy friends were interested in wearing wigs too. Since they were at work, I told them I'd browse around. Here's some of the wigs I found for them. But none were what they envisioned, so we wont see any of these wigs that night. I thought they were cool, then again, Im not the one that would have to wear it! haha
We also went shopping for vintage shirts! So stayed tuned for that blog!
We celebrated Ethan's first birthday at Leapin Lizards! Gosh, what a blast! That place really brings out the kid in everyone old and 1! LOL... Here's pictures of the Birthday Baby with family and friends! Love you Baby!
Jumpers galore!
Smile for me!...
Ethan's Daddy & Mommy
The Obstacle Course...Sam vs. Molly
Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday Dearest Ethan......and Adonis....hahaha...
Our Goodbyes outside....
Last month we were all at the park for Sa's Graduation Luncheon @Kekela Beach Park. The party was off to a slow start, but once everyone arrived and got settled, we had a great time! After lunch, Crystal brought out her boxing gloves so she could practice a few rounds with her brothers. While in Colorado she took up kickboxing as a hobby. Unfortunately I didnt get any video clips of her workout, but I did get a few of Mikey and Pete, also of the kids.
And here's a couple of the kids! No, we didnt let them go at it due to previous experiences. LOL.
Now this is too cute! Moroni kissed Deacon to tears! What a loving kid!
Did you get a climpse of all the spectators??
Here's a few clips of our Wii Crew a.k.a. "WC" pronounced "dub C" playing games! We're trying out the new Wii Olympics! This definitely tests out your Wii abilities. I found it harder than the Wii Sports Game. But that's just my opinion. Enjoy the videos!
How far from your last home do you live? Why did you move and are you glad you did?
Submitted by Matthew 25.
Walking distance about 1 minute or so! Within the past 5 1/2 years I've lived in 4 different townhouses in the same community! What can I say, I cant get away from this place! hahaha...Im very glad that I moved because my home now is twice as big and i've recently completed my new kitchen. It doesnt get any better than that! Oi, and please dont think I've moved that many times under bad circumstances, it was ALL positive believe it or not. Long story...
Well, I couldnt resist this quote of the day. Thanks Matthew for the question....
BTW, HAPPY NEW YEAR URBODY! 2008 is gonna be GREAT!
This year Christmas went by too fast! Was it me, or did everyone else celebrate just about everyday that week?? hahaha... Well, I slacked with my blog around that time because I was too busy shopping and celebrating! haha! And because of that, I made a slide show of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and everything else inbetween! haha... I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas as much as I did, it was awesome to spend that time with family and friends!
ENJOY the slideshow!
Earlier today I witnessed my first Sheriff's Graduation! My cousin gratuated along with 2 dozen other Deputy's at the Okinawan Center in Waipio. The ceremony was really nice. I've never attended one before, but now after doing so, I have a new respect for those service men and women. They go through 4 1/2 months of hardcore training and intense schooling. Congrats to my cousin Kaiks and the fellow men and women who graduated this morning!! BE SAFE and GOOD LUCK!!!
My camera battery died on me. So I relied on my new EnV camera phone. I love it! What a life saver!
Congrats again Kaiks! Im so proud of you and love you very much!
